This post is a outline I used to preach/teach a message on Romans 15:13. As always my prayer is that you will read something here that will allow you to draw closer to the God who loved you enough to leave heaven and die on a cross for your sins.
Romans 12:12 NKJV
rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer;
Romans 15:13 NKJV
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
1. Now-The Present is God's Gift to us. God wants to do great things in your life now. That's not to say we will not have to wait patiently on the work of God in our life. Most of the victories I have had in my life has been while I was waiting on the Lord. We must begin to cry out to God right now for the victory we need in our walk.
4:8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about [him]; and [they were] full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.
Revelation 4:8
46:1 God [is] our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Psalms 46:1
13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
Hebrews 13:8
2. the- Jesus isn't some idol or just a god but he is The God the one true living God. He is the God.
3.God- Wow God source of all life.
Colossians 1:16 says For by him(Jesus) were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
He is so much more than our finite minds can comprehend.Even Paul told his followers there more he wanted to tell them but they just would not get it if Paul felt that way imagine how much more God of god there is than we have even imagined.
4. God of- Romans 15:5 says he is the God of patience and consolation Romans 15:33 says he is the God of peace. He is the God of whatever you need.
5.God of hope- This world doesn't have any hope outside of the blood of Jesus. Jesus is our only hope. World=hopeless, helpless but God is a God of hope.
6.fill- satisfy God wants to satisfy our need. Do you fill empty tonite God wants to fill you. Our problem is we have filled ourselves with so much junk of this world there's no real hunger.
7.You- this message of hope is for You he wants a intimate relationship with YOU! The gospel is a whosoever will its to everyone its to all. Direct Personal Invitation to YOU!
8. with all joy and peace in believing.God wants us to believe in him trust in him surrender all to him not doubting nothing.I believe most of our problems ALL of our problems in our life come when we fail to believe.Do you have joy and peace in believing tonite or do you have envy strife confusion.
12:14 Follow peace with all [men], and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: 12:15 Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble [you], and thereby many be defiled;
Hebrews 12:14-15
3:14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. 3:15This wisdom descendeth not from above, but [is] earthly, sensual, devilish. 3:16 For where envying and strife [is], there [is] confusion and every evil work. 3:17But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, [and] easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. 3:18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.
James 3:14-18
If you don't allow this God of hope to fill you tonite with joy and peace in believing your life will result in a lot of confusion,evil, and you want only defile yourself but also everyone you come in contact with.
9. that you may abound in hope- God doesn't want to give YOU a little hope but he wants YOU abounding in Hope he wants you to have so much Hope that when you come in contact with someone else they walk away with a new hope in life. Abounding- overflowing, consuming, overtaken with hope. Hope even when everything seems to be falling in around you Hope in the midst of the storms and valleys in your life.God wants you to hear him say I love you my child I'm right here. I love you I love you I love you I love you.
10. through the power of the Holy Ghost- What I'm talking about to tonite is not going to come in your life when you get good enough but it ONLY comes through the HOLY GHOST. not my might but by my Spirit says the LORD.
