What Does the Bible say about Giving to the Poor?

Before we look at what the Bible says about giving to the poor. Let talk about some of the things we have said about giving to the poor. They are just lazy and should get a job. They should have made better decisions in life. Why did they allow themselves to get in this shape? They should stop smoking and drinking. They are just going to waste the money I give them. I am not here to debate on what we have said is true or false. The point of this post is to hear what the Word of God says about Giving to the Poor! Proverbs 21:13 NKJV Whoever shuts his ears to the cry of the poor Will also cry himself and not be heard. Proverbs 19:17 NKJV He who has pity on the poor lends to the Lord , And He will pay back what he has given. Proverbs 28:27 NKJV He who gives to the poor will not lack, But he who hides his eyes will have many curses. Proverbs 22:2 NKJV The rich and the poor have this in common, The Lord  is the maker of them all. Proverbs 14:21 NKJV He who despi

Those Who Have Faith

Hebrews 10:37-39 KJV For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.  Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.  But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul. We know that the return of Jesus is upon us, deception, evil and sin is increasing all around us. The love of many is growing cold in the church today.  (2 Timothy 3:1-5, Matthew 24) But God has a remnant. God has a bride. God has a fire baptized and faith filled people in the earth today.  Will you be one of Those who have faith? Three callings God has for this generation of Christians. 1. Called to be a prophetic generation. Not Christian fortune tellers, but those who share the testimony of Jesus in power and authority. Those who preach the Gospel with a prophetic utterance that pierces to the heart and causes people to cry out what must we do to be saved. Th

Walking in Wisdom while you Wait!

We all have to wait, and if we are all honest most of the time we would prefer not to wait. Waiting on God many times will make you or break you. Some are good at waiting others not so good. Every great man of God in scripture experienced a season of waiting.  God has called us to walk in wisdom and to understand the will of the Lord while we are waiting.  I want to share with you in this post a few things the wise know and do while they are waiting on God.   ~The wise know the wait doesn't mean God doesn't care, love, or hear us. They know the delay is not a denial.    Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. I John 5:14‭-‬15 NKJV ~The wise understand the principles and the promise of the  harvest. But this I  say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows

Biblical Encouragement

Today's post is more of a Bible Study or a word study than a devotion. I have listed the definition of exhort and listed most of the verses that speak of exhorting from the New Testament and made  brief comments on each verse. Daily you are surrounded by people who need hope, direction and many even feel like giving up on God. My prayer is that this post will instruct, stir your heart and remind you to encourage others.  Exhort-   parakaleó: to call to or for, to exhort, to encourage Definition (a) I send for, summon, invite, (b) I beseech, entreat, beg, (c) I exhort, admonish, (d) I comfort, encourage, console. Thankful for the Truth that Makes us Free!

Satan was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. John 8:44 NKJV Satan is a murderer and a liar. John 10:10 calls him a theif and says his purpose is to steal, kill, and destroy. He wants to steal your faith, and kill your dreams so he can destroy your soul. The only way he can do any of this is through lies and deception. Almost every spiritual attack is against and for your faith. The Lord has be on assignment in this post to bring to light the deception of the enemy and expose every lie of hell. Satan is full of nothing but hot air and lies. The truth of God can burst him like a needle does a balloon and extinguish every lie. Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.  And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:31‭-‬32 NKJV I

Replacing your Survival Kit with God's Revival Kit.

Christians face difficult circumstances all the time. Many times we can become weary and beat down from life. During difficult times and  times of being weary it is easy to become a  survivalist. This survivalist mentality causes us to begin to  just  go through the motions of Christianity. We can still look the part, talk the part, and do the part all the while we are falling apart on the inside. Beloved God has never intended for His people to merely exist or just survive.  God has called us to thrive!  I want to share with you in this post on the topic Replacing your survival kit for God's Revival kit! (Side Note~ Warning~Get Ready~Brace yourself~ It is coming!  -I have prayed that as you were reading this post  that the  Holy Spirit would deposit something on the inside of every person who reads this post. Maybe it will be something you read in this post  or  something the Holy Spirit speaks to you as you are reading this post. I am believing for many to drop the surviv

The Blood of Jesus Still Works!

I want to encourage you today with the simple, yet profound and powerful truth. The blood of Jesus still works. The blood of Jesus still has power, today on Monday, May 21, 2018.    What can the blood of Jesus still do?  Well I am glad you asked that question.          The blood of Jesus is still the only way for man to be redeemed and forgiven of sin.   In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace Ephesians 1:7 The blood of Jesus is still justifying us before a Holy God.  Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. Romans 5:9 NKJV The blood of Jesus still heals us spiritually, emotionally, and physically.   who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness— by whose stripes you were healed. I Peter 2:24 NKJV    But He was  wounded for our transgressions, He  was b

Giving Thanks in Fiery Trials!

Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy. I Peter 4:12‭-‬13 Last Thursday I shared a post titled Rise Up and Give Thanks . I want to build on that thought this week by sharing with you on this Thankful Thursday six reasons to be thankful for fiery trials. We Give Thanks in Fiery Trials because..... 1. Fiery trials are never meant to destroy our faith only to define/prove/ reveal our faith.   My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. James 1:2‭-‬3  When you pass through the waters, I will  be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you. Isaiah 43:2
