Contending while God is Keeping

Jude 1:3
3 Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.

Contend-to strive in opposition or against difficulties, maintain, assert

Jude 1:20-21
20 But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep(ing) yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

I believe the process of contending earnestly for the faith requires us walking out Jude 1:20-21 daily. Daily building your faith, praying, keeping yourselves in the love of God (speaking of Matthew 22:37-38) and looking and/or waiting for the return of King Jesus!

Jude 1:24-25
24 Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, And to present you faultless Before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, 25 To God our Savior,Who alone is wise, Be glory and majesty, Dominion and power, Both now and forever. Amen.

While we are contending for the faith we MUST realize that without the grace of God keeping us from falling we would be hopeless. I believe when we realize the keeping power of God, our hearts become refreshed and we will begin walking in the strength of our salvation (JOY OF THE LORD) God is not going to do our part for us but we can never doubt  that God is and always will be doing His part.
