The result/penalty of sin is death...

Matthew 1:21 NKJV And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus , for He will save His people from their sins.”
Jesus defeated sin, death, hell, and the grave through His death, burial, resurrection. We can have victory over sin today through faith in the cross...
Colossians 2:13-15 NLT You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins. He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross.
Our response to this wonderful good news of victory over sin...
Acts 2:38-39 NLT Peter replied, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. This promise is to you, and to your children, and even to the Gentiles —all who have been called by the Lord our God.”
We must continue to stand, hold on, and endure just as Jesus endured the cross...
Hebrews 12:1-2 NKJV Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
In a world filled with bad news, and corruption at every hand. There is still Good News for the person who surrenders and puts their faith in Jesus Christ.
