Supernatural Suddenlies are Always Preceded by Radical Obedience!

Acts 2:1-4 When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And SUDDENLY there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

We all desire the suddenlies of God in our life. Many are in need of a miracle. Our families need a breakthrough. We are in need of a move of God.

Beloved many times we see the suddenly of God in others life and forget about the process that positioned them for the suddenly. I want to share with you in this post.

Four things that happened before the Suddenly of Pentecost. We could call them four steps of radical obedience that led to the suddenly of Pentecost.

1. Obeyed Jesus to go wait in Jerusalem. (see Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4-5) What is God telling you to do that you have been delaying. Don't delay any longer. The disciples could have came up with hundreds of excuses of why not to wait in Jerusalem and many (at least 380) didn't experience the suddenly of Pentecost because they didn't wait.

For more verses on obedience see Luke 11:28, James 1:25, Romans 2:6-8, 1 Peter 1:14, Matthew 7:24-27

2. They continued waiting....Many never experience the Suddenlies because we grow weary and quit before the breakthrough. Beloved we must be a people who learn to wait, and then continue waiting. To Wait on God is not a time to do nothing but a time to be expectant, a time to filled with wonder and excitement about God and what He will do in His timing.

Isaiah 40:31
Those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

3. Continued in one accord. See Acts 1:14 They were all united under the blood stained banner of Jesus Christ.

A) Unity brings the anointing of God.
Psalms 133:1-3
Behold, how good and how pleasant it  is For brethren to dwell together in unity! It  is like the precious oil upon the head, Running down on the beard, The beard of Aaron, Running down on the edge of his garments. It  is like the dew of Hermon, Descending upon the mountains of Zion; For there the Lord commanded the blessing— Life forevermore.

B) Agreement/ Unity releases the Power of God.
Matthew 18:19-20
“Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.  For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”

C) The enemies are defeated in unity.
Deuteronomy 32:30
How could one have chased a thousand, and two have put ten thousand to flight, unless their Rock had sold them, and the Lord had given them up?

4. Continued in prayer and supplication.

Acts 1:14
These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.

We must understand the spiritual battle of prayer and be willing to press in and endure even when nothing seems to change. We must pray until God moves....

For more verses on enduring, persevering and continuing in prayer.

Galatians 6:9
And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

I encourage you with this last thought God is still a God of suddenlies. God is able, willing and desires to move suddenly in your life, in your family, in your ministry and in your business.

Jesus is the Great I Am. He is the ever present help. He is Now the God of hope. He is the same, yesterday, today, and forever. His promises are all yes and amen.
Don't lose heart, don't faint, but rather be encouraged, be vigilant, be courageous, because the Lord your God is with you. He has promised to never leave, fail or forsake you. He is mighty in battle. He will do what He said He will do.
