FOR AS YET!

Philippians 3:10-15 10 That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, 11 if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead. 12 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. 13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. 15 Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you. There are many messages in this text but I want to focus on one thought, Paul was one of the greatest apostles. He wrote over 70 percent of the New Testament, but still he knew and was convinced that FOR AS YET he had not obtained everythin...

Our Identity in Jesus Christ

The Word of God Says in Jesus Christ ... I am faithful (Ephesians 1:1) I am God's child (John 1:12) I have been justified (Romans 5:1) I am Christ's friend (John 15:15) I belong to God (1 Corinthians 6:20) I am a member of Christ's Body (1 Corinthians 12:27) I am assured all things work together for good (Romans 8:28) I have been established, anointed and sealed by God (2 Corinthians 1:21-22) I am confident that God will perfect the work He has begun in me (Philippians 1:6) I am a citizen of heaven (Philippians 3:20) I am hidden with Christ in God (Colossians 3:3) I have not been given a spirit of fear, but of power, love and self-discipline (2 Timothy 1:7) I am born of God and the evil one cannot touch me (1 John 5:18) I am blessed in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing (Ephesians 1:3) I am chosen before the creation of the world (Ephesians 1:4, 11) I am holy and blameless (Ephesians 1:4) I am adopted as his child (Ephesians 1:5) I am given God...

Don't let satan steal your identity in Christ

We all know about identity theft, chances are you know someone who has had there identity stolen. Identity theft can be a tragic event for someone. We take every precautionary action possible in order to protect our names, social security number, drivers license, credit card numbers etc. We will review our credit history, take our names off of mailing lists, shred our personal documents, keep our personal info (SS cards, birth certificate) at home in a safe place, use strong passwords, and take our bills to the post office rather than send them from your mailbox. Identity theft is a verry real thing that has the potential to destroy your life. Micah 4:5 5 For all people walk each in the name (identity) of his god, But we will walk in the name of the LORD our God (true identity) Forever and ever. I'm writing this post today to warn you of Satan's attempt to steal your identity as a Christian just as real but even more important than your personal identity. Satan is come to ste...

Peacemakers ARISE!

Matthew 5:9 9Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. Hebrews 12:14 14Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: Romans 14:19 19Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another. Peacemakers ARISE! I'm very simple in my thinking but a peacemaker is someone who is "making peace". This may mean you have to become involved in a situation that seems difficult. Peacemakers will run into a crisis (difficult situation) and do everything possible to achieve the greatest peace for the greatest number even at the sacrifice of himself . Some times the only thing you can do is pray for peace and Jesus the Prince of Peace and the God of Peace will show up and show out. But still there are times where we need to get involved. I'm learning in my own life that its much better to deal with conflict rather than avoid the conflict pretending it will ...

Changing our Focus!

10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God [is] faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear [it]. 1 Corinthians 10:13 I praise God that even when I am weak that he is STRONG. I pray that we could begin to get our focus off the struggle and unto the CREATOR of the universe. As Christians we face many battles but God is faithful. Someone once told me that while ministering to others you can't allow yourself to focus on their problem but rather the solution JESUS CHRIST. For example if all we see while we help feed the homeless is there struggles and problem we're unable to work in the power of God. But as soon as our focus becomes on the solution JESUS CHRIST the struggles and problems begin to seem minute. This is true whether in your own life or you are ministering to someone else and it seems as though they are in an impossible sit...

Keep on Praying!

6:13 Fire shall be kept burning upon the altar continually; it shall not go out. Leviticus 6:13 5:16 Rejoice evermore. 5:17 Pray without ceasing. 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 5:19 Quench not the Spirit. 5:20 Despise not prophesyings . 5:21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. 5:22 Abstain from all appearance of evil. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-22 6:18 with all prayer and supplication praying at all seasons in the Spirit, and watching thereunto in all perseverance and supplication for all the saints, Ephesians 6:18 12:12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; Romans 12:12 18:1 And he (JESUS) spake a parable unto them [to this end], that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; Luke 18:1 1:20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, 1:21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal ...

Romans 15:13

This post is a outline I used to preach/teach a message on Romans 15:13. As always my prayer is that you will read something here that will allow you to draw closer to the God who loved you enough to leave heaven and die on a cross for your sins. Romans 12:12 NKJV rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; Romans 15:13 NKJV Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. 1. Now-The Present is God's Gift to us. God wants to do great things in your life now. That's not to say we will not have to wait patiently on the work of God in our life. Most of the victories I have had in my life has been while I was waiting on the Lord. We must begin to cry out to God right now for the victory we need in our walk. 4:8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about [him]; and [they were] full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy...
